Open-source developers are very influential, but Nokia's treatment of open platforms has been largely about taking instead of giving. "Since the launch of Ovi by Nokia, we have emphasized that we want Ovi to be open for developers." But not open for users of open platforms... same thing with the "PC Suite" for phones. Connecting people? It’s funny how all Nokia services are aimed at Microsoft customers and maybe eventually partially also at Apple’s iphone-loving customers but never at the Linux and open-source users.
