Hello Store Users,
This week we are working on a number of updates for the Store that will require us to take the service offline for a few hours. Just like a store in the physical world, the digital Store on your handset and desktop, at times needs to be closed so that we can do some renovations. We will be posting more details on these enhancements shortly here on the Ovi Blog.
In the meantime, please be advised, that the Store will be offline at the following times:
- Tuesday October 13th at 7 AM EST the service will be unavailable for approximately 2 – 3 hours
- Friday, October 16th starting at 6 AM, the service will be unavailable for approximately 7 hours
Note for publishers: The Publish service at http://publish.ovi.com will be unavailable from Monday, October 12th starting at 7 AM EST until the afternoon of Friday, October 16th.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience. We’ll resume Store and Publish services as soon as possible!
Sincerely, the Store Team

Thanks for this information. Keep it up, this is definitely the sort of information that should be posted to the blog.
Thanks for this, much appreciated.
“We’re sorry.
The Nokia Account authentication system is currently down. Please try again later. We apologize for the inconvenience….”
It’s Wednesday October 14th at 16.00 Finnish time.
I’m annoyed! This is the second time I get a text from My Nokia, encouraging me to do something cool at Ovi. It’s also the second time I get an apology for the site not functioning properly.. I WOULD like to do something cool, but I’ll have to do it somewhere else than OVI..
Your marketing department must be happy with their/your timing…
this is why i should have got a iphone thought nokia would have had the site running by now
I am sorry
I try to open a NOKIA account but still not opening when i try there is mention captor not valid thats wy I am very upesett ?
“Monday, October 12th starting at 7 AM EST until the afternoon of Friday, October 16th. ”
Too long for an online service!
You might want to turn off your SEM buy to your Ovi Store during these planned and extended periods of outages… getting directed there and finding out that the site is down for consumers and developers is a waste of company’s money.
It’s 3 pm now though and Ovi store is still down
i appreciate this information but the maintenence was only ment to last till 1 o’clock, but it is no 15:20, which is late by 2 hours. maybe next time the time could be more accurate for i have been waiting for 2 hours now to buy games.i hope you take this on board,

I would be great if this size of maintenances could be informed a little bit earlier than same day as the maintenance. This way we publishers could plan our week a little bit better.
hi i appreciate all the support and the hard work that is obviously going great….however ive been unable to access the store since a week at anytime that i tried it would always tell me application initialisation failed with a rapist error so i kindly ask u to give me a solution to this problem… I have an xpress music nokia 5530 and i waited until the days of maintenance where over so i could try but still with no result…. I really want to access the store so please help me out thanks…. And goodluck with everything
@ Eric John – just wondering when you’re going to publish more details on the enhancements? 9+ days is not what I’d consider to be shortly, but I do appreciate this information and just wish Nokia would do more of this.
This store looks good, sort of… After saying that, I must complain!
I use Firefox – latest version, together with AdBlockPlus and NoScript extensions (of course store.ovi.com and nokia.com are whitelisted) plus others – all latest version. When I log on to store.ovi.com the URL bar flashes green, but flips off and stays that way… And the security padlock is broken. The site works with IE, but IE lets XSS (cross site scripts) and external tracking cookies in and that is a BAD thing. I do not have this problem with any other secure site that I go to.
If the web site developers cannot straighten that out, then Nokia needs to through them out and start over. It seems wierd to me that a multi-billion dollar company would have a very, very poor site like this.
Come-on folks, get your act together!
Athentication system is still down, have you any idea when it will be up and running again, you could also notify people on the Ovi Store website that it is not working then they need’nt trail through loads of Apps, only to find they can’t buy them!
More informationm please!!
Authentication system is still down, do you have any idea when it will be up and running again ? It is almost 2 weeks. Plwase please help. I need to download so many appplications.
I keep read sites that talk about creating great websites or making an extra income, and seeing your information is encouraging, because it is not so easy as they say it is..
